UK Pavilion 2025

Momentum collaborated with ES Global, WOO architects, Maxford Hamllp, Speirs Major and Fira Landscape to design the demountable steel structure for the UK Pavilion.

It was a key sustainability goal of the client that the structure be demounted at the end of the Expo and as many components as possible be reassembled and reused elsewhere.

The design evolved from using a 10m x 10m steel frame that could be adapted, demounted and reused several times in different places and in several configurations. The design included the ability to withstand magnitude earthquakes experienced in Japan.

The configuration used for the UK Pavilion in Osaka enhanced the space to allow for free movement of people and large surround screen displays as required for the immersive experience. The UK pavilion was achieved through great collaboration from conception to completion by the integrated design team.
