Momentum collaborated with ES Global, Alchemy International, Trahan Architects, Tripod Studio, BRC Imagination Arts, Meinhardt Group, Hood Design Studio, Dpa Lighting Consultants, Dot Dash Lighting and Studio Loutsis, BeWunder, True Staging and Trivandi to design the demountable steel structure for the US Pavilion.
The US pavilion at Expo 2025 consists of two steel frames, triangular on plan, and linked by a suspended steel cube structure in the centre. Each triangular frame is 20m at the widest point with central columns to break up the spans. Floors are formed from steel joists supporting a plywood deck and there are a series of mezzanine levels and walkways.
The structures are clad in tensile fabric with additional timber cladding and video screens layered over many elevations.
Much of the primary roof structure has been designed using steel trusses previously used in stages for live events. The stability system is a mix of bracing and moment frames which must withstand seismic forces.
