Designed and built to support Qatar in its successful bid to host the 2022 Fifa World Cup, this zero-carbon 500-seat stadium is considered an environmental exemplar.
The design develops passive design ideas into a new form of architecture. Photovoltaics harness energy from the sun to fuel air-cooling systems and create a pleasant micro climate of 23 degrees within the stadium, even when the temperature reaches 44 degrees outside.
Momentum was responsible for the detailed structural engineering on behalf of the design and build contractor.
