WikiHouse

This award-winning design is an open-source construction set which aims to make designing and building a home more possible and affordable.

The ultimate self-assembly kit, WikiHouse is offered free on the internet to enable people around the world to design, download and ‘print’ CNC-milled houses and components.

Elements of the structure are cut from ply sheeting and joined using contemporary interpretations of traditional timber-joining techniques. The aim is to be able to assemble the structures with minimal formal training.

The project was winner of the TED PRIZE 2012.
