Sunspot is a new project on the seafront at Jaywick Sands in Essex that Momentum worked on with Hat Projects.
The project includes affordable business units, indoor marketplace, café, public toilets and meeting rooms alongside a community garden, bus shelter and event space.
Momentum worked closely with HAT Projects to carefully detail a simple steel portal frame structure that could be left visually exposed as part of the internal spaces and with the clever use of a canopy, large windows and different orientation of cladding appears anything but a portal framed shed. An everyday structure used to support a successful and clever architectural design.
