Momentum have worked with Forest of Imagination over a number of years to develop innovative structures for Forest of Imagination, an event featuring workshops and art installations for schools.
The frames typically use a complex geometry with members in a reciprocal array. The Living Tree was modelled physically to help aid analysis, and three-dimensional models were used to analyse the structural behaviour.
The Living tree was built using sweet chestnut round poles in a double reciprocal array, working in collaboration with artists Andrew Amondson and Matthew Leece.
The outdoor classroom is an outdoor learning space with views over the city. The structure is a reciprocal frame roof, built using a mixture of Douglas fir and sweet chestnut in the round.
Mesmerine 111TM is an immersive 3D soundscape inspired by 111Hz. The structure is a formed of a three dimensional frame using small section timber.
