Located in the Cotswold Village of Kingham the building has been designed as zero carbon to passive house standards.
The two storey construction consists of timber stud walls supporting the floors and roof. The floor construction is precast concrete jetfloor with supplementary insulation supported on simple strip footings.
The timber wall panels were prefabricated off site. Because of the limited panel lengths available in the design, the walls were sheathed with ply to provide the stability system for the two storey construction.
The principal opening in the rear elevation was supported by a green oak frame.
