IWM Duxford

We assisted Architype with the design of a new passivhaus archive building and large object store at the museum’s Cambridgeshire site, along with supplying structural solutions for the aerial suspension of large display items.

Several of these projects were designed to passivhaus standards, reducing long term running costs. 

Through this work Momentum gained a good understanding of the requirements of PD 5454, and have explored structural solutions that incorporate high levels of fire protection and meet the stringent serviceability requirements of roller racking storage. 

We also have a clear understanding of the logistics involved in both the moving and storing of existing objects and artefacts.
