Narula House, Berkshire

Located on the banks of the river Loddon, Narula House sits within Flood Zone 3b.

Momentum worked with John Pardey Architects on the design of the private house which is built on supporting columns to raise it 2.2m above the ground, making space for parking but also bringing it above the 1:100 year plus predicted Climate Change, a potential flood depth of 1.17m.

The house has a steel framed structure, infilled with timber framing and insulation, all bearing on piled foundations.

On one side is a large open-plan living space with no structural columns offering views of the river.  A balcony runs along the length of the space.

On the other side there is a study, media room, utility spaces cloakroom and three bedrooms all with en-suite bathrooms.

The house is heated by a ground source heat pump located in the adjoining garage structure, powered by PV panels set upon the roof.
